Apple to Manufacture 10 Million Tablet PCs
The Apple Tablet has been the subject of many rumors in the computer world. Now to add even more fuel to the fire, ex-Google president of the China operations, Kai-Fu Lee, has blogged about an order for 10 million of these so called Apple Tablets. Lee worked for Apple more than 10 years ago.
The tablets are part of the future of computing but currently there are very few models available. The tablet would offer a touch screen computer in a very compact and portable form, approximately 10 inches. It could be compared to the Amazon Kindle. An order for 10 million tablets sounds extremely farfetched in the current economy. The Apple Tablets are expected to be around $1000 dollars for each unit if and when they are finally introduced into the market.
Apple has not made any statements supporting the rumor of a tablet or any kind of mass production for it. Although it is very probable that the company will release some kind of tablet type of computer it is highly unlikely it would project such extensive sales. Apple has been a technology leader for the past 10 years, and it is feasible to believe that a tablet computer is on the horizon.
