iPad Vs Flash: Jobs Calls Adobe Lazy

Monday, 01 Feb 2010

The Apple iPad, according to Steve Jobs, CEO for Apple, will not support Flash by Adobe because the programming is “buggy”.

What Apple fails to see in this situation is that though the program may be buggy, it is depended on by millions of online websites, and without it users will be confined to fewer sites than if it was automatically included or supported by the iPad.

In defense of the company’s controversial position, Steve Jobs complains about Adobe’s work ethic and programming abilities, “They are lazy,” said Jobs, speaking of Adobe. “They have the potential to do interesting things but they refuse to do it.”

Despite the criticism from multiple experts, the release of the iPad is still one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year; the iPad is, according to Jobs, “(Apple’s) most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price.”

Unfortunately, “unbelievable price” may mean ridiculously expensive to many potential buyers; at $499 dollars for the cheapest iPad and $699 for the most expensive, the device is certainly not selling for pocket change, and, particularly after the item’s inability to support millions of websites, buyers may not be so willing to spend so much on the “revolutionary” technology.
