Set Sail With The Oasis of the Seas
The Titanic has forever set the standard for large ships. In December 2009, the Royal Caribbean ship, Oasis of the Seas, set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a cruise ship that’s almost five times as big as the Titanic was. It’s almost as long as four football fields, measuring in at 225,282 gross tons. It’s approximate weight being over 100,000 tons. It has capacity for 5400 passengers, that’s estimated by figuring that each room has a total occupancy of two passengers. Due to the sheer size of the boat it requires a staff of over 2100 people.
Oasis of the Seas has sixteen passenger decks. There are numerous places to go explore and activities to take part in aboard the boat. Feel as though you’re flying through the air on the zip line, go for a dip in one of the four swimming pools, and there’s even multiple nurseries in case you want to have some time without your children. There’s a casino, a theme park, night clubs, bars, lounges, a karaoke club, comedy club, and over 24 restaurants. That’s only a small peek inside what is offered on the cruise.
Oasis of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship in existence.
