Big 12 Tournament Schedule and 2010 Conference Bracket (UPDATE)

Day one is in the books as the Big XII Men’s Basketball Tournament continues its run in Kansas City. There may be no more interesting tournament in the country than this one as the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas St. Wildcats, Texas Longhorns, and Baylor Bears are looking to add this title to their resume.

Eight teams now remain after the first round games yesterday. Today, play will open with Texas Tech taking on Kansas. Kansas is currently the number one ranked team in the land and they are looking for the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Kansas should get by the Red Raiders and then will face the winner of Nebraska and Texas A&M on Friday.

The other quarterfinals should prove to be very entertaining. Oklahoma St. and Kansas are two very athletic teams and it could be a close game. The game everyone is waiting for will be Texas and Baylor. When was the last time Baylor was seeded ahead of Texas? It’s been a while as the Longhorns who had been ranked number one earlier in the season faded down the stretch. Baylor has been a pleasant surprise this year, and many think this game against Texas will let them prove how good they are on a big stage.
