Droid Commercial: A Preview Of An iPhone Killer?

Monday, 19 Oct 2009

Since the overwhelming success eight years ago, when Google revolutionized Web search, the company has tried to find a new way to diversify and grow their business.

After several false starts, such as access to markets for newspapers, television and radio, search engine makers seem to have found their way into what many consider the most critical technology: the combination of phone and computer.

The company worked in silence for a time to create a high-level system that would extend their domains from laptops and table to the most widely used technology platform in the world, next-generation mobile phones.

The first mobile phone with Google’s Android operating system was released in October 2008. Google has continued to refine its accomplishments to fulfill the hopes of lovers on your browser and increase the fears of those who believe that the company already has too much power.

A Rival To The iPhone?

The rival to topple in the world of smartphones is clear: iPhone. Now the U.S. carrier Verizon is going to sell (hopefully later this month) the new Motorola DROID terminal with which seek to take market share from Apple.

Verizon have already launched their first ad to promote the Motorola DROID.

Phrases are emerging with some of the features of the new terminal from Motorola which happens to have all the features the iPhone lacks. Moreover, the text of the ad are written with the same typeface that are commonly used in Apple’s now famous  minimalist style we are accustomed to.

iDont have a real keyboard.

iDont run widgets.

iDont run simultaneous apps.

IDont take pictures in the dark.

iDont have interchangeable batteries.

Everything iDont Droid Does.

It’s a good publicity stunt, and promotes the shortcomings of its main competitor. It will remain tto be seen whether or not the Motorola DROID will be able to overshadow the iPhone, for now the few who have tried it speak very highly of the new smartphone, especially highlighting the great hardware.
