Gmail Updates For iPhone and Android

Thursday, 09 Apr 2009

Google had recently updated Gmail for the iPhone and Android-based handsets. The new email application should be more convenient and run much faster. This change improves both the look and ease of using application buttons and now even looks very similar to an actual desktop.

Gmail now is able to do more in the background while it is not being used and may enhance the overall performance while actually using it. The tasks of Gmail will be performed faster, including opening emails, searching and navigating.

Google now assures access to your Gmail account despite periodic network connection or no connection at all. Another improvement is the ability to delete or archive many messages by being able to select many at one time. A ‘floaty bar’ is used that follows in the current screen as you select multiple messages.
Most applications need to be downloaded, but this has no software to install. Running the new Gmail requires just visiting the site gmail.com while using the Web browser in an Android device, iphone or ipod Touch.
