Spotify Releases Taster Of Android App, With iPhone To Come
Thursday, May 28, 2009 – A demo of Spotify is being released to provide a taste of its future coming mobile application.
Spotify is a subscription that is European based, an online music streaming service, that allows users to stream music from a Google Android device even offline, while they are in the process of syncing on a regular PC searching for specific tracks.
There is no Wi-Fi needed for the application, but can receive music while it is connected to a Wi-Fi hot spot and get it sync and then is able to go offline and listen to music where there is cellular network coverage area.
Spotify applications currently, is a stream line music service for computers that provides the user access to a large quantity of music that they are able to browse, search and play on their computer. This service unfortunately has not been offered into the United States yet, but hopefully in the future
The demo that is viewed of this future application, is 2 ½ minutes in length and it is being demonstrating on a Google Android device. Its service has fast access to obtain the music preferred by the user. It works just like the regular PC application, but this version is wireless. The application turns your phone into an MP3 player since the playlists can be cached and the application is used as the default music client.
The demo does not provide any information on the cost or when the live version will be out on the market.
There is no knowledge as to whether or not this application will leave European ground and be brought to the United States to be used, but a lot of consumers are hoping for it.
As the video demonstrated the application being used on a Google Android device, some are in hopes that Spotify will develop another version that can be used on the Apple iPhone, but they are worried about it taking over the iTunes spot.
Spotify and its newer application will be a big hit out on the market once the live version gets out.
