Google Web Search Update: Google Caffeine

Over the last ten years the internet search market has become a place that all major players want to control, where domination of this market has switched from Yahoo to Google.

To be able to keep up with the changes that are taking place Google recently announced that they have been working on a new secret search technology that will help make them more competitive against the potential threat from Microsoft’s Bing.

The new search engine, code-named Caffeine, hopes to offer a quicker for effective search experience.

According to lead engineers on the project Sitaram Iyer and Matt Cutts, “For the last several months, a large team of Googlers has been working on a secret project: next-generation architecture for Google’s web search. It’s the first step in a process that will let us push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions.”

What this shows is that the competition for increasing amount of searches are becoming more intense where major players are attempting role out a next generation technology that will increase the overall effectiveness of internet searches.

This means that you are seeing the different players position themselves for what they think will be the next battle ground of the internet.

While no one knows what the future will bring, the fact of the matter is that to stay competitive in this demanding business requires that you must be constantly adapting to the changes that are taking place.

This can be seen with the release of Bing from Microsoft and with Google updating their web search technology.
