Apple Mac Delays Fuel Suspicions of New Models of iMac

Monday, 05 Oct 2009

Reports of delayed shipments of Apple Macs to Apple resellers intrecent days is fueling the suspicions of industry watchers in the media and blogosphere that Apple intends to release a new, slimmer model of the iMac in the near future. Rumors of a new iMac arose late last month with claims that there was a slim new iMac en route to hit market in time for the all important holiday shopping season, and the reports that both Apple resellers and official Apple stores are all having difficulty ordering the models currently on the market is leading many to believe that those rumors may well be true.

As commentator Jim Dalrymple at CNET pointed out, it would make sense for Apple to release an updated iMac before the holidays because recent models of the iPod and iPhone have already successfully hit the market. Aside from a slimmer casing, the next iMac is also rumored to be equipped with an optical Blu-ray drive. An Apple MacBook is also likely to hit stores before the end of the year with an increased storage capacity and faster processor. Google recently leaked three advertisements in the Netherlands that imply that there may even be a new, lower priced Apple Mini on the way. However, the ads led straight to the Apple website, which currently has no information regarding new models of any of their computer systems.
