Project Natal to be Available November 2010

Thursday, 07 Jan 2010

Microsoft unveiled their newest add on for the Xbox that will be released sometime before Christmas 2010. The add on will enable the gaming system to record a player’s body movement and project it into the video game play. A player will not need to use any special platforms, mats or controllers for the new game.

The Project Natal technology will be a standard feature on future Xbox consoles. The technology is similar to the Nintendo Wii but does not require any expensive controllers. A sensor bar will monitor the player’s movement, quickly compare it to the human physiology database, and transform it into action within the game.

This futuristic technology will get game players off the sofa and moving. With the obesity crises gripping youths around the world this type of game is just what the doctors ordered. Users will need to physically kick, punch, and jump in order to successfully play the games. A new line of games will be released to coincide with Project Natal, including the popular Halo game.

There has not been any mention about how much this add on will cost. Current Xbox owners will be able to purchase this add on to use with their existing systems.
