20 Years and Counting: Simpsons Still Makes Us Laugh
FOX studios are understandably proud that 20 years later “Simpsons” still makes fans laugh at the antics of Homer, Marge, Lisa and Bart. There are many other memorable characters as well, but these were the ones who made the world take notice of the Matt Groening animated series two decades ago.
On January 10th the 450th new episode of “The Simpsons” will be presented and once again fans will be able to experience the wacky humor and outrageous adventures of one of the world’s most recognizable and beloved TV families.
The satirical sketches are sharply written and offer surprisingly scathing comments of the real world but the combination of Groening’s humor and the onscreen cartoon antics are the reason that 20 years later “Simpsons” still make fans laugh. In this world of short lived fads and trends it is difficult to believe that perpetual ‘boy child” Bart has been able to entertain millions of viewers for so many years, but who would ever want this eternally cool character to change?
Television viewers love Marge’s neon blue, beehive hairdo as much as they enjoy Bart’s radical skateboard abilities; and they even appreciate Lisa Simpson’s saxophone talents. A generation of kids have grown to adulthood during the “Simpsons” years and many of them continue to tune in each week to get their “Simpsons” Fix. If you fondly remember episodes such as “The Lemon Tree” or “The Beer Baron” then fasten your seat belt and get ready for these newest adventures that promise to be even more amazingly “cool” than the ones from previous years.

They quit making me laugh about 2002
The Simpsons is the best show of all time. Even when it isn’t as funny as its previous seasons, I find comfort in knowing new episodes are being created. It sucks that The Simpsons are on Fox (with the ridiculous FoxNews), but the writers have always made fun of the Fox Network — and that’s great. I’m also a fan of Futurama, and I hope they continue that series as well.
