Magicjack: Turn your house into a cell phone tower
MagicJack unveils new device to make free cell phone calls. MagicJack founder and inventor Dan Borislow has unveiled a new product that allows cell phones or smartphones to access the internet through the MagicJack Voice Network instead of the user’s cell carrier network. Touted as the smallest and possibly cheapest plug and play femtocell technology, this offering will work with virtually all cell phones and service providers including pay as you go plans.
The cost for a MagicJack account is only $20 a year. By offsetting cellular minutes, the resultant savings could reach into the thousands each year. This savings is much greater when calling internationally, usually 95 to 100% over current cell phone carrier rates. Once registered, users can also connect by utilizing connections at friend’s homes or in businesses.
Since the company’s inception, over 5 million MagicJacks have been purchased for use in homes and businesses across the US. This newest offering is touted to offer users the same reliability and monetary savings that the growing customer base is already accustomed to.
Since its introduction, the company has received many ‘product of the year’ awards. In 2009 MagicJack won the most Radio Shack’s most innovative product of the year award.
