Apple closes down Fingerworks.com, Orange denies existence of Apple Tablet project

Tuesday, 12 Jan 2010

Apple has closed down one of their subsidiaries, Fingerworks.com, in the interest of what most journalists have speculated as the return of Apple’s failed Newton program. It is likely that Apple will launch a new mutli-touch, keyboard and mouse integrated tablet. Fingerworks was working on similar technology when all of a sudden, their website was taken offline.

Reports say that this was, in all likelihood, due to a press release that the company had posted that Apple wanted to erase immediately. Fingerworks designed technology for those with a lot of money in hands: big buyers who could afford to pay equally big bucks for technology that was ‘hip’ or ‘unique’. Fingerworks had great ambitions to replace the QWERTY keyboard system, noting that the concept of the QWERTY keyboard is a total abomination which ruins our hands, and is a generally uninteresting way to interface with the machine. Orange, a mobile phone operator in the UK, has been bogged down by the press about the release of such an aforesaid Apple ‘tablet’.

Orange’s Stephanie Richard has further denied the existence of an Apple tablet, and claims that the news was taken out of context, and that no one should anticipate such a release.apple-tablet-os
