Apple to unleash the iSlate on January 27

Tuesday, 19 Jan 2010

Apple, who has been a leader in the personal electronics industry, is set to introduce their newest creation. On January 27, Apple will introduce a device which is expected to be a 10-inch touchscreen tablet computer. The newest device has generated a lot of excitement, but shareholders are a bit weary of Apple’s newest device.

Tablet computers have not historically been great sellers with the public. Despite being around since 1990, tablet computers represent only 1% of all computer sales. Like the rest of their product line, Apple’s newest gadgets all seem to be a hit with computer savvy consumers. Some expect Apple’s tablet computer to more resemble a large iPod touch than the traditional tablet products.

As of now, it is unclear what use the tablet computer would be designed for. Most experts believe that the tablet would be used for playing music and videos which are purchased through Apple’s iTunes store. The operating system within the tablet computer is also unknown. The Apple laptops run off of an OS X operating system, while the Apple’s iPods run off of a separate operating system. Many believe that the tablet computer will also be designed for video games and online books. apple-islate-january-27
