Latest news and rumors on Apple tablet PC Islate

January 27, 2010, will be a very busy day for journalists in the USA, regardless of their media. That morning Apple CEO Steve Jobs is holding a media event to announce the latest creation from Apple. The tech rumor mill is positive this will be the announcement of the release of their tablet PC product, the Apple Islate. That evening, 9 pm ET, President Barack Obama will deliver his first state of the union address before a joint session of Congress.

Even though Apple has not formally released any information on this latest creation or its capabilities, digital and mobile tech reporters have been able to provide educated guesses on the product. For example, they are certain it will fit in the tablet PC niche, between smart phones and netbooks/laptops. They did this by verifying that Apple notified its apps developers to have adaptations for their iphone apps ready for larger screen machines by the announcement date.

Tablet PCs are not new to the market. Frog design, an industrial design firm, recently released pictures of their earlier tablet PC designs. They were done for Steve Jobs in 1983. Wired.com published them. The prototypes were ahead of their times even then.
