iPhone Users Making Internet-Based Calls

Friday, 29 Jan 2010

It’s always a bummer every month, when you look at your cell phone bill and see all of those charges for going over your minutes. You try and cut back on calling your friends and family, but somehow when you still do call, it’s in the peak hours or not on a weekend. And when you’re using an expensive calling plan, like those with the iPhones, it can take a lot out of the pocket.

Fortunately enough, now At&t makes it easier for those looking to save money with unlimited minutes. There is a new app that you can download, in which you can make unlimited calls using the internet. Before, you would have connect to a wireless internet connection in your area, but now you can just use the 3G network provided to you by At&t, and make as many calls as you want a month, for only ten dollars. Or, you can do it free but you can only talk for five minutes and must listen to advertisements before calling.

Apple could not be seen for any comments made on this new upcoming feature, but iCall Inc said that Apple was the first to approve this new feature. ATT iPhone

  1. I have to confess cell phones have become an obsession with me – not collecting them – reading about them. Though there’s been little published about designer phones on the blogs, I think the recent news that grabbed me the most was the upcoming launch of Versace’s very own cell phone – cost US$7000, according to one blogger. That kind of left my excitement about the Google Nexus in the dust. But reading all these cell phone blogs, what amazes me is how much people are prepared to spend on a phone, and the service to go with it. As you say, it’s a bummer looking at your bill every month and seeing all those charges for going over your minutes – in my case, double the cost of my monthly plan about a month ago. Which is exactly why I just switched to an unlimited prepaid plan. Like zillions of other people, I lust after the iPhone, but just can’t afford one, or the plan to go with it. But the Samsung Finesse touchscreen phone I bought when I got my Straight Talk unlimited plan does the job for me. It’s not the real thing by any means, but let’s just say it’s the Poor Man’s iPhone.
