Can Apple deliver on the iPad hype?

The impending release of the Apple iPad is no big secret, having probably been over hyped is this the must have device of 2010 and what of the available features?

Now that all the buzz surrounding the if and when will the iPad be released has died down, many are asking questions about the devices gaming ability. Will the iPad be just an inflated version of an iPod Touch or a supersized iPhone Touch Screen?

Gamers are probably going to be one of the main beneficiaries of the iPad, given its larger screen, storage capacity and processor size. Meaning that a new generation of Touch Screen games may well be already in the pipeline. For sure many games such as shoot-em-ups and flight simulators will be revolutionized by the iPad technology.

Prospects and Potential Users

So who are the iPad users going to be?

Speculation about the iPad being a toy of the 40 something’s is probably a little bit unfair, there will be the clamor for its potential as an early morning commuter toy but there are many user possibilities.

The younger teens for example are probably already badgering their parents for the $499 – $800 device in the form of a Birthday present of Christmas stocking filler.

College and University Students have already probably figured out which eBooks and applications they will be trawling through during summer vacation. They may be even thinking of ways to buff up for exams with the iPad.

The release date for the Apple iPad is scheduled for between late March 2010 and early April 2010.
