April: The Month of the iPad

Apple announces that in less than a month the long awaited iPad will be available in retail stores in the US and Canada. For fans of all that is Apple this is long awaited news. With the success of past apple products we can expect strong critiques of the newest product in the Apple family. What does the iPad offer that is new or different?

Apple is counting on their new A4 processor to be the star of the show for the iPad release. Running at 1GHz, the A4 processor provides some serious mobile processing power to the iPad. This added power will provide a smooth user experience compared to those familiar with the sometimes choppy performance of early generation iPhones.

With the added functionality of a scaled down version of iWorks, the iPad offers features that iPhone users are unfamiliar with. This scaled down version of iWorks includes, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. So with a word processing application, an excel type spreadsheet application, and a powerpoint type presentation application, the iPad strengthens its offer of a truly mobile device that does what its users need.

With less than a month to go, Apple fans don’t have long to wait to get their hands on Apple’s newest golden child.
