Bloom Energy unveils new Bloom Box
After eight years of research and development, Bloom Energy introduced the Bloom energy box to the world via the CBS news show “60 minutes” on February 21, 2010. The energy box is basically a fuel cell, a device that converts fuel and oxygen into electricity. Fuel cells are not new technology. There are competitors making fuel cells today.
K. R. Sridhar, Bloom Energy’s CEO attributes the energy box’s improvements over earlier fuel cells to his company’s mission. He states that Bloom Energy was searching for the Holy Grail of fuel cell technology. Bloom Energy was not content to bring a slightly better fuel cell to market. He wanted to deal with most technical challenges fuel cells present to their developers, the high heat levels generated by the electro-chemical process.
Bloom Energy overcame the heat problem with two innovations. First, in place of exotic metals such as platinum for the catalyst, Bloom uses ceramic tiles made from sand and inks. The tiles can stand up to the heating and cooling within a fuel cell better than exotic metals. The tiles are less expensive than catalysts in use today. Second, Bloom developed a method to recycle the heat into more electron production.

I believe that these bloom boxes, transport the produced energy without wires. I am assuming, that they would be transported via electromagnetic waves, but how can that affect living organisms? For example, cancer can erupt from an exposure to large quantities of energy radiation. Would these waves flying through the air, disrupt human lives? Am i just being ignorant, or does this sound a little shady; someone please enlighten me on this question.
