SEC tournament bracket 2010 released
The SEC Tournament bracket has been released, with the No.2 ranked Kentucky Wildcats gaining the no. 1 seed in the East division, while the Mississippi State Bulldogs hold down the no. 1 seed in the West division. As a stepping stone to the NCAA tournament, it has been proven over the years that no matter what a team’s seed may be in the SEC Tournament, it will be not be an easy road to an automatic bid to the NCAA’s.
The first round of the SEC tournament begins Thursday, March 11, when the East’s 5th seeded South Carolina squad plays the 4th seed in the West, Alabama, at 1pm. The winner will face Kentucky the following day at 1pm.
The no. 6 seed in the West, LSU, faces off against Tennessee, the 3 seed in the East, at 3pm Thursday for the right to play Ole Miss, the no. 2 seed in the West, on Friday at 3:15pm.
Thursday night at 7:30, the no. 5 seed in the West, Auburn, will play the no. 4 seed in the East, Florida, with the winner taking on Mississippi State on Friday night at 7:30.
Rounding out the Thursday games at 9:45pm will be the East’s no. 6 seed Georgia playing against the no. 3 seed in the West, Arkansas, for the right to take on Vanderbilt, who holds the no. 2 seed in the East, at 9:45pm Friday.
