Bank of America sued for taking parrot
While traditional mortgage lenders have been in the news quite frequently for having to follow through with home foreclosures, one recent foreclosure seems to have some unusual repercussions for America’s largest bank.
According to sources, a woman from Pittsburgh is suing Bank of America for allegedly mistakenly entering her home under the impression that it was foreclosed property. In fact, the bank was wrong and the Pittsburgh home was not to be foreclosed.
According to the woman, the bank hired a repo man who entered her home when she was not home, stopped utility service, cut off all water lines, damaged her floors and home finishings, and stole her pet parrot. After the woman noticed that her home was damaged and her pet parrot, Luke, was missing, she contacted the bank immediately.
When the woman contacted the bank representatives of Bank of America first told her that they didn’t know where the parrot was. Then they told her she had to contact the repo contractor. Finally representatives of the bank told her that they were tired of hearing from her and they hung up on her.
Now that Bank of America is facing a lawsuit, they have finally begun reviewing her case. Bank of America has claimed that they will “consider any hardships” that occurred from the incident.
