Netflix sends out streaming discs for Wii

Friday, 26 Mar 2010

As early as January, NetFlix, a company known for its DVD rental services, has started sending out special discs for Wii’s giving the popular and successful console the ability to stream movies from the comfort of the home through any high speed WiFi connection. Requirements for the service are to be an unlimited NetFlix customer, own a Nintendo Wii gaming console, and have WiFi access to a high speed internet connection.

NetFlix customers can sign up now to receive the Wii disc when the company officially launches the service. Right now only a select few are testing the beta version of the service and sending feedback so NetFlix can deliver the best service possible for its customers. Prices for the service may vary; however, any Netflix unlimited member can expect to continue paying $8.99 a month to be granted access to the service.

NetFlix first started streaming on the PC a few years ago. They expanded their services to stream to both Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s Playstation 3 consoles. So it was only a matter of time before Nintendo’s immensely successful console got in to the party. The service is expected to increase the number of NetFlix customers generating increased profits. netflix-streaming-discs-wii
