‘Oriental Yeti’ caught in China: No hoax
An unidentified animal that is being coined the ‘Oriental Yeti’ has been discovered in China.
The unknown creature was captured in remote wooded area of the country’s Sichuan province. The dubbed ‘Oriental Yeti’ has been described as a small hairless creature that resembles a bear with a kangaroo tail. The unidentified creature calls out frequently and has been described as sounding like a cat. The animal was discovered by local hunters who believe the creature to be a legendary animal that was “once a man”.
The animal has been shipped to Beijing for DNA testing in attempts to learn more about the creature and its origins.
The ‘Oriental Yeti’ is not the first virtually unidentifiable creature to surface around the world during the last several years. In Panama, a group of teenagers photographed a hairless creature with an animal like head but with long and skinny arms and legs. Someone has claimed that the animal is a sloth, but cannot explain the lacking presence of fur. In 2008, a creature dubbed the Montauk Monster washed ashore in New York. In the case of the Montauk Monster various experts have argued that the animal is a raccoon, dog, or a turtle.

It’s probably an Asian Palm Civet. Same shaped head and ears, same long thick tail. Either it lost its fur, or someone shaved it to fool gullible journos.
Glad to see it’s caged and terrified. David’s comment is right on – it’s a hairless palm civet. Poor thing.
