Type 1 Diabetes Cured in Mice with Vaccine
A new study has found a way to cure mice who suffer from type 1 diabetes using a type of vaccine. This vaccine is based on nanotechnology and was developed by scientists from the University of Calgary, located in Alberta, Canada. As well as curing mice of this disease, the vaccine has also been shown to slow the onset of the disease in mice who are at a high risk of developing type 1 diabetes. The results of this study were published in the online version of Immunity, a scientific journal.
This new vaccine developed by the Canadian scientists is comprised of nanoparticles. These particles are much smaller than the size of a cell, and are coated with fragments of protein. The particular protein fragments used are specific to type 1 diabetes and are bound to certain molecules. This vaccine works by helping to increase the number of cells responsible for suppressing the immune attack associated with this disease. Increasing these cells helps to prevent the body’s white blood cells from attacking the necessary beta cells that are located in the pancreas. These beta cells are responsible for the production of insulin, making them a very important part of the body. This helps to cure those with type 1 diabetes.

Hi
Thanks for this article on cure for type 1 diabetes.
But what next? Is this medicine going to be available
soon in the market?
I have heard so much about these types of research in the
past. Nothing is ever coming to the markets though.
Cheers
Sumeet
