Bizzarre and Dangerous Contact Lens Craze Inspired by Lady Gaga
Teens and young adults are the most impressionable viewers of music videos. If they like what they see they want to rock the same looks and fashions. Now it seems that Lady Gaga is inspiring a bizarre contact lens fad among her fan base, that could be potentially dangerous for their eyes.
It is the latest in copycat madness among Gaga fans, who religiously emulate Gaga’s dancing, outrageous outfits, tatoos, jewelry and hairstyles. Now people are wanting to use special contacts so they can mirror the look of those eerily weird eyes Lady Gaga displays in her top selling video, “Bad Romance”.
Even though people are being told that special video effects and computer enhancements were most likely added to create the “white eyes” of Lady Gaga, that is not keeping people from attempting to duplicate this uncanny appearance. Sales of Asian contact lenses known as “circle lenses” are soaring and at a cost of $20-30 per set it is a million dollar business that vendors are in no hurry to halt.
Teens are the biggest group of buyers for these contacts that cover the iris and make the eyes look outrageously large by comparison. These types of contact lenses are now being sold in a variety of colors and being promoted as fashion accessories.
Unfortunately, these lenses are banned in many places because they prevent oxygen from reaching the eyes. This can lead to eye infections and disease and in some cases, partial or total blindness. Despite warnings and attempts to stop the sale of such items, it seems that many Gaga fans are going to have to learn their lesson the hard way.

I guess if you are extreme fan and don’t want to follow what they are telling you then go ahead and risk not being able to see your idol dumb just total ignorance. I mean don’t get me wrong I love her soo much she is amazing but I would just listen to the people telling me they used effects. I’m not risking not being able to see her and my family for the rest of my life. I’m fine
