Facebook Email Coming Today?

New Email Service from Facebook Expected to be Announced Today
Facebook users could be getting their own email service from the popular social network sometime today. The company should be announcing the new feature at the Web 2.0 Summit taking place in San Francisco. This new version will hopefully outshine the pitiful inbox now offered by Facebook.

This new service will be able to compete with the big boys such as hotmail and gmail who are the leaders in the free email services currently offered online today.

We first heard about the new Facebook email service back in February and it is rumored that a @facebook.com extension will automatically be assigned to the Facebook user upon signing up.

Even though an email service from Facebook would be widely welcomed by the social networks users, it also raises questions of privacy issue which have plagued the website in recent years. However the email service would be an asset for those who use the website as their primary communication for business as well as keeping in touch with family members.
