Facebook Can Trademark Face

On Tuesday the U.S. Patent and Trademark office said that Facebook can trademark Face.
Now Facebook must file a statement of use that says it will be using the trademark in commerce.
Facebook has been going after companies that it feels is trying to use it’s name recognition to further their own businesses success. Such as companies that use either face, or book in their names. Over the summer, Facebook sued teachbook, which is a social networking site for teachers.
Facebook has also contacted Travelbook, a travel website, that website changed it’s name without any court action being neccesarry.
Facebook has been trying to trademark face, since 2008.
