Is CEO Carol Bartz About To Go Down With The Yahoo Ship?

If you heard the rumor ‘Is Yahoo down today’ and thought it meant the website or the instant messenger were having database connection problems, you are definitely out of the loop! It appears that just in time for the Christmas goose to be fat enough and more pennies for the old man’s hat, no pennies are coming from about 650 US Yahoo employees.

Blame appears primarily focused on Yahoo’s new CEO Carol Bartz.

Recent reports concerning a gag order issued by her to all employees warning them of the consequences of exercising their 1st amendment rights in media without her permission are said to be only part of the problem.

Yahoo has been described by some as a ship that is listing and leaking. With this in mind, perhaps the real question is not ‘Is Yahoo down today’ but rather ‘Is Captain Bartz about to go down the the ship’?
