Is Facebook Really Shutting Down March 15? Hells No
Rumor of Facebook Shutting Down A Hoax
Despite a recent $500 million cash infusion by investment bank Goldman Sachs, which values the company at $50 billion, a rumor that Facebook will be shutting down on March 15 has gained traction on the internet, worrying some of the 500 million users of the popular social networking website.
The rumor, which was originally reported by Weekly World News, suggested that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is worn out from the stress of running the company and has decided to shut it down.
However, the report is widely believed to be a hoax.
Weekly World News, a supermarket tabloid, has been known to make outlandish claims in the past.
As of this moment, however, Facebook has neither confirmed nor denied the rumor.
