Facebook Co Founder Chris Hughes Engaged

Co-founder of the social networking giant Facebook, Chris Hughes, is engaged to his long-time partner, Sean Eldridge.

Eldridge, political director for the organization Freedom to Marry, said Hughes proposed to him in Thailand on New Year’s Eve in the traditional manner of being on one knee.

Hughes and Eldridge, who have been together for five years, haven’t set a date for the nuptials but will probably tie the know within the next two years. Their hopes are to wait until New York recognizes gay marriage as legal.

Eldridge broke the engagement news during a Freedom to Marry reception in the SoHo apartment he shares with Hughes, with celebrities such as Ivanka Trump and Cory Booker in attendance.
