Nintendo 3DS Unveiled, Set To Be Released Soon

Nintendo has released new product information and begun showing off its next generation 3DS to the media.

Set for release on March 27th, the Nintendo 3DS will be the first hand-held gaming machine to feature 3 dimensional visuals.

Like previous DS models, the 3DS comes with two split screens. The top screen will feature the 3D content, while the bottom screen is a touch-sensitive one. Users will be able to dampen the intensity of the 3D effects or even turn them off completely. 3DS users will not need to wear 3D glasses to play it. The 3DS is motion-sensitive and includes a 3D camera.

A number of games are already taking advantage of the 3DS’ 3D features. Some are using the camera and motion sensors to create an augmented reality, with virtual objects appearing on a picture of the real world.

The suggested retail price for the 3DS is $249.99.
