Is Privacy Possible Online?

For those not happy having their activities on the web being tracked, now it seems there may be a solution to the problem. The Google and Mozilla browsers may soon include a way to curtail monitoring of online activities and decrease the ever present user defined ads during their browsing sessions.

Added to the already available opt out tools, users could soon have some additional choices. Google Chrome allows user defined preferences to preserve their opt out settings while browsing even if cookies are deleted, which currently doesn’t apply. The new “Keep My Opt Out” add on will save the user settings after cookie deletion.

Mozilla Firefox is working on another approach, allowing users to have a blanket opt out, which applies to any site visited. The application will send a message that the user does not wish to be tracked by the ad software which tracks all site visitors.
