Verizon iPhone Release Date Draws Nearer

It has been announced the Verizon will offer the Iphone 4 for purchase on February 10, 2011. For years it was rumored that the Iphone would come to Verizon, now that time has finally arrived.

The Iphone for Verizon is not any different than the version that is currently available for AT&T, both work on the 3G network. Like the models for AT&T, the Iphone for Verizon will come in 16GB and 32GB versions.

The Iphone 4 will be available for pre-order by current Verizon customers on February 3, 2011, a full week before its official release. The 16GB version will sell for $199 and the 32GB model is priced at $299. Both require a two year contract with Verizon.

By expanding the Iphone to Verizon users Apple looks to try to stay competitive with the surging Android market. Previously, the Iphone was only available for AT&T. Androids phones are on more carriers.
