iPad 2 Will Face Competition From Samsung And Motorola
An official release date for Apple’s iPad 2 has not been set yet, but the iPad 2 is already facing competition from Samsung and Motorola. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Tab 10.1 today, while Motorola has its own version of the tablet computer called Xoom.
Features of the much-anticipated Apple iPad 2, a follow up to the company’s first generation of the device that debuted last year, have not been announced yet.
Motorola’s Xoom boasts a super-fast dual-core processor, but at $800 the device may have a price tag that is too high for it to be a realistic competitor to Apple’s iPad.
Rumors of features of the iPad 2 include a slimmer design and faster speed. Current speculation suggests the iPad 2 may be launched this summer. A major complaint of the original iPad is the lack of a USB port. Apple’s original iPad has sold nearly 15 million units.
